How To Create Videos Your Clients Will Love

If video is not part of your marketing plan for 2021, here are two stats that will put video in perspective.

Michigan Software Labs Co-Founder Joshua Hulst recently requested help creating a video for Grand Valley State University’s School of Computing and Information Systems. As a former student Josh was asked to provide perspective for potential and incoming students to the college at GVSU.

Josh was able to provide a script and the teleprompter in multiple locations made the process simple and efficient. A couple of run throughs of the script in three different locations around the Michigan Software Labs took Josh under an hour to complete. When combined with the b-roll and other footage we have captured for Michigan Software Labs and out came a great 3 minute video for GVSU.

So how did we help ensure the video for Michigan Software Labs would be a homerun for their client (GVSU)?

Pre-Production

We needed to make sure we had a clear window of time with Joshua, that the location (Michigan Software Labs office) would be open and accessible and that a script was prepared and Joshua knew what he wanted to talk about

Production

Locations were verified when we arrived on site. Cameras, audio and lighting was set prior to Joshua leaving his desk and taking time away from his day to day responsibilities. We helped make sure he was comfortable reading his script from the teleprompter and that the energy level matched throughout each take.

Post-Production

We had his script and added additional footage (b-roll) to the sections where it was called for. Draft 1 was delivered to Joshua and his team, a few revisions were requested and the final draft was approved 48 hours after delivery.
