Michigan Winter Wedding in Hesperia | Jon + Katie
We first met Katie back in 2009 when she was a bridesmaid for Brie's wedding at Frederik Meijer Gardens. Over the past couple of years we would receive a Facebook comment from her about how she loved the wedding photos we just posted or something else she had seen on Facebook. Early in 2012 we received a different message from her. She sent an email describing her upcoming December 29th wedding in Hesperia, MI and wondering if we were available on her wedding day. My first thought was, "where is Hesperia?". After finding it on Google Maps, I responded letting her know we were available for her Michigan winter wedding.
During the summer we caught up with both Katie and her fiance Jon for their engagement session at Katie's parents property. We recognized instantly that these two were a fun couple that enjoyed laughing and goofing around. They had no trouble just being themselves in front of our camera.
As the wedding day got closer and closer, the weather wasn't cooperating and we were worried they would have a gray and brown, non-snow filled December wedding, but they were blessed to have snowfall happen the night before their wedding.
The day was great between the ceremony in Hesperia and the reception in Fremont. Hair was done by Lisa Vliem and Manda Hample from Hair by Joan and Company. Makeup was done on location by Sarah Hudson. Decorations were done by Tents and Events of West Michigan. Bartending services was provided by Holly Hawkins Hundersmarck.
