Turning camera shy clients into camera confident ones
“I hate having my photo taken.”
I hear that all the time. And honestly, it never surprises me. Most people don’t wake up excited to be in front of a camera. Especially people like Mike.
Mike runs a fast-growing tech company. He’s sharp, thoughtful, and leads a great team. But whenever the topic of photos came up, he’d cringe.
“Let’s just get it over with,” he said.
He was worried about looking stiff. Awkward. Like a version of himself that didn’t match how he shows up with his clients or his team.
And I get it. That fear is real. But something changes when you’re given space to relax, feel heard, and not be rushed.
We started Mike’s session by talking. Casual conversation. No pressure. We took a break and he looked at the images on the computer. He realized he liked how he looked and what we were doing. That little feedback loop helped him feel more in control and more comfortable.
I offered small suggestions. Turn a little toward the light. Think of something funny your kid said yesterday. Simple cues that helped him settle in.
Soon, his shoulders relaxed. His smile became natural. He stopped trying so hard and started just being himself.
By the end of the session, he said, “Hey, I actually don’t hate this.”
When the final photos were delivered, he was surprised in the best way. He looked confident. Approachable. Like the leader he really is.
He added the photos to his LinkedIn profile and company website. His audience noticed. He got more engagement, more messages, and more momentum. And maybe most important of all, he felt proud putting himself out there.
So here’s what I want you to know if you’ve ever dreaded photo day. It’s not about learning how to pose. It’s about working with someone who helps you feel safe enough to be yourself.
That’s when great photos happen.
If you’ve been avoiding the camera, you’re not alone. In fact, you’re exactly who I work best with.
We’ll take it step by step. You don’t have to fake it or force it. You just have to show up. I’ll take care of the rest.
If you're ready, reach out here and let's create photos you’ll be proud to share.
