How to Fundraise with Video (A Lesson from Senior Neighbors)

Senior Neighbors serves over 4,000 older adults, helping them stay independent through a wide range of essential services and five Senior Neighbors centers. They promote the well-being of older adults with services that promote self-sufficiency, especially to those with physical, social or economic needs living in Kent County.

With the current shelter in place order they were not able to host their annual lunch. So, what could they do to generate awareness and raise funds for their programs?

Why not host a VIRTUAL “Meet Your Neighbor” event and use video as the primary way to share about the services they provide on a daily basis?

Over the course of 5 days, Senior Neighbors highlighted leadership, programs and services they provide through 6 videos.

Videos were captured through Zoom meetings and cell phones of essential staff working around Kent County.

With those video files in hand, we went to work and edited 6 films together that Senior Neighbors rolled out on a daily basis to their social media and email audiences.

So what were the results?

The goal was to raise $10,000 over the course of the week and they raised $10,120!

Congratulations to Senior Neighbors on a successful virtual fundraising campaign and to learn more about Senior Neighbors, be sure to visit their website.
