Over the past few years the West Michigan Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACGWM) has become a place where the 'who's who' of business associate. From their website, you will see their mission statement: "ACG is where people who are SERIOUS about business go to CONNECT, share and learn. ACG is where local DEALS are discussed, dissected and, quite often, done. Simply put, ACG is BUSINESS NETWORKING for grownups."
Throughout the past few years we have worked closely with Julie Metsker, the Executive Director for ACG West Michigan and owner of Professional Administrative Resources (PAR), an association management company based in the Grand Rapids area. PAR does a wonderful job organizing events and fulfilling the roles it is hired to do for all their clients and we get the chance to see that happen during events like the ACG Outstanding Growth Awards.
The annual Outstanding Growth Award honors a local company that demonstrates sustained growth in sales, profitability, employment, and community involvement. Established in 1997 by two craft beer enthusiasts—Dave Engbers and Mike Stevens—with day jobs and a dream, Founders Brewing Co. brews complex, in-your-face ales, with huge aromatics and tons of flavor. Founders ranks among the top 30 largest craft breweries in the U.S. and is one of the fastest growing. The brewery has received numerous awards from the World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival and RateBeer and BeerAdvocate users often rate its beers among the best in the world.
