What Should Your Business Photograph?

If a picture is worth a 1000 words, why do we continue to talk so much about what we do?

Why don't we show the world what we do (and be more effective while doing it)?

Do you connect with that statement? Are you saying to yourself, "He's right, I need to show my customers what we do and how we do it!"

If that's you, then this post is for you.

What you should photograph and share with the world are 3 different categories of images.

Most likely you're good at sharing one of the three. Nothing wrong with that. Most likely you simply don't know about the other two.

So what should your business be photographing and sharing with the world (sorry, I'm about to should all over the place)?

·         People. If you're in the business world, you likely have employees. You should highlight them through photography! As Simon Sinek famously stated, "People don't buy what you do they buy why you do it.", I'm guessing your why revolves around your team. Share stories of your team. Share the good, the bad and the ugly. Your customers will thank you for it (try it, I promise you won't regret it).

Products. More than likely, this is the category you're good at. You make something, so you have it photographed and share it with the world. After all, most people turn to the web to view what a business has to offer. You should have photos showcasing your product and how it helps customers.

Process. This is the category that most businesses miss. Customers are interested in the "how" of your business just as much as they are interested in your products. The world can't know how your business runs unless you show them. Give them an inside seat of you doing what you do best. You should capture you and your team in action and show you audience the “behind-the-scenes” of your operations. Not only will images show just how your company operates, but it will also increase trust with your audience.

Photography can be a powerful tool in your business toolbox. If you utilize the tool to capture these 3 different pieces of your business, you will see more and more success.
