Patrick + Ashley | Wedding at Little Point Sable Church
We love when weddings are designed and planned around the lifestyle of the couple we are photographing.
Patrick and Ashley did exactly that.
Ashley's family has a home in the Silver Lake, Michigan area where she spent quite a bit of time over the past few years. While she and Patrick were dating and engaged, many weekends were spent up at the cottage. It seemed only natural that the wedding would be held in that location when the date was set.
What better way to craft a wedding day that is unique to the two of them than to get ready at her family's home!
Some couples know they want to have a "first look" before their ceremony. Patrick and Ashley were one of those couples.
They wanted to spend time with their guests at the reception, so we planned their first look in a wonderful gazebo at their home.

Then it was time for photos with Patrick, Ashley and their wedding party around their family cottage. All of the locations were just steps away from the house, which made it easy to create many different looks in a short amount of time.
They decided their ceremony would be held at Little Point Sable Church, between Stoney Lake and Silver Lake. The church was built early in the 20th century and was a beautiful backdrop for the intimate ceremony performed by Ashley's uncle. The church was packed with friends and family from around the country, which created some amazing images for these two.
Following the ceremony we wandered around the grounds of the church and were able to find the type of locations we love the most: open space with dramatic backdrops. The area behind the church was an open field with a few larger tress that created a wonderful frame for Patrick, Ashley and their wedding party portraits.
The reception followed at The Barn at Town Corners, which offered a great outdoor area and view. Dinner was held in the barn itself, but cocktails and conversations were held outside the barn with a breathtaking overlook.
