Pure Michigan Summer | West Michigan Photo Project

015_DSC09117.jpg

Do you enjoy Michigan summers? If you do, then this post is for you.

Earlier this year we were commissioned to create a massive collection of photos from around West Michigan (12 counties in fact). Locations were chosen by the commissioning client based on what best represented the overall West Michigan area.

With 12 counties to cover and multiple locations on our list for each county, I partnered with another Grand Rapids based photographer who could create great landscape and exterior images for the project.

Nick Irwin is a photographer who has a skill set very different than mine. He’s willing to brave the wind, rain, cold, dark and any other element you could imagine to get the best shot.

On this project, he was tasked with photographing Downtown Hastings, The World’s Largest Brown Trout Sculpture in Baldwin, Troutarama in Baldwin, Friday Night Live in Ludington, the Muskegon Farmers Market, Downtown Newaygo, The National Baby Food Festival in Fremont, The Silver Lake Sand Dunes, the Reed City Depot in Reed City and Kirk Park in West Olive.

The collection of images below is only a small portion of the overall outdoor photography.

In addition to outdoor images like these, the project focused on 2-3 businesses in each county and creating a library of photos that could be used to show the rest of the world what Michigan business is all about.

Soon you’ll see a video recap and collections from each of the counties we traveled to this summer.

It’s not just “Pure Michigan”, this collection of images is “Pure Business”.

Stay tuned for more great images from our “Pure Business” regional photo project. If you're looking for images like these for your organization or area, we would love to find out if we can help.
