Rob + Lindsey | Lake Michigan Wedding Ceremony & Photos
I know there are many beautiful places in the world. We've been blessed to visit a few of them. However, one place that is hard to beat is a summer evening on the shores of Lake Michigan in August. With wonderful weather, sand between your toes and the soft crashing of waves along the shoreline, there are few places more spectacular to stop and take in God's beautiful creation. Especially when we have the privilege of photographing a wedding on that spectacular spot along Lake Michigan. The day began at their home in Spring Lake where the ladies got ready and just around the corner, where Rob and Lindsey's best friends live, the guys did the same. Though they needed some help with ties and boutineeires, they were still a RAD group of guys to spend the day with! After photographing details from dresses and shoes and some portraits around the neighborhood, it was off to the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Rob and Lindsey planned their wedding ceremony at North Beach Park in Ferrysburg, Michigan. It's just a hop skip and a jump from the typically crowed shores of Grand Haven State Park. As an Ottawa County park, it's typically much less hectic than the other area beaches. Their ceremony was scheduled as the sun was setting on a Friday evening in August. The weather was perfect. They were surrounded by family and friends and they committed themselves to one another.
Following the ceremony, the wedding party jumped into a trolley and made their way Kruse Park in Muskegon where Rob and Lindsey spend time together with their adorable dogs. With the sun setting and such a gorgeous setting, it was hard to take a bad photograph. Following the park it was off to Muskegon Country Club for their reception overlooking Muskegon Lake. The evening included traditional first dances, but evolved into groomsmen doing back flips and handstands around the dance floor.
If you've considered a beach wedding, Rob and Lindsey's day is an example of how every part of a day on the water goes perfectly!
