Dan and Sharon planned a very intimate Grand Rapids wedding at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and Noto's. With only 16 guests at their ceremony and dinner to follow, they were able to spend much of their day with guests. Originally Sharon found us through an online Google search and we hit it off right away. We understood her wedding day to Dan would be a second marriage for both of them and therefore were not looking for all the traditional bells and whistles that others may want. However, she wanted great photos from her wedding day.
That's where we came in.
We used our smaller 6 hour photo package to make sure we had time to photograph them getting ready, their first look, photos of the two of them, along with their children and grandchild.
The ceremony at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church was beautiful. If you've never been to a Greek Orthodox wedding, the biggest difference in the service is the priest chants (or sings) the entire time. Neither the bride or groom say vows to one another, but the symbols of candles, rings and wedding crowns are used during the service to symbolize the marriage covenant.
Following the ceremony we grabbed a quick photo of all their guests at their ceremony and headed over to the wedding reception at Noto's. Dan and Sharon made a quick entrance to greet their guests and then headed into the Noto's wine cellar for portraits.
The Noto's staircase and wine cellar are stunning visually and create a beautiful backdrop for anyone looking for unique portraits on their wedding day. After spending a few minutes downstairs, Dan and Sharon then returned to the private dining room for a wonderful meal prepared by Noto's and toasts given by their children.
