We first met Heather when she was a bridesmaid for Sarah during her June 2012 wedding in Grand Rapids. She contacted us just a few weeks before her wedding hoping we were free on her wedding date as her photographer decided to cancel just a few weeks prior to her wedding day. Thankfully, she was calling about a date that we were available, the only one in August in fact! She explained that she and Bailey would be getting married at Central Michigan University with a reception at Bucks Run Golf Club just outside of Mt. Pleasant. She said their wedding day would be low key as she had never really imagined a big, dramatic wedding day. Not only was it great to see these two commit themselves, but it was great to see so many familiar faces from Jeff and Sarah's 2012 wedding.
We spent most of the day with Heather, meeting her first at her salon for hair and makeup (along with her ladies). We then headed to the events center where the guys were awaiting our arrival for a few before photos. After a short amount of time with Bailey and the guys (and finding out he was one of the best in the USA at karate), we spent a few minutes with the ladies and Heather, using the unique space around the events center as our backdrop.
The ceremony was held in the atrium to the events center and following their vows to one another and a great send off, we headed to downtown Mt. Pleasant for some fun "location" photos. Not only did the wedding party stop traffic in the downtown area for a while, local law enforcement decided to get in on the action and asked us to "not block traffic for wedding photos." Needless to say, Bailey and Heather's wedding party was nothing less than a blast to hang out with and everyone took the change in plans in stride.
After their arrival at Bucks Run, Bailey and Heather kicked off the evening with all their formalities of introduction, first dance, cake cutting and toasts all right away so they were able to sit back and enjoy the company of friends and family for the remainder of the evening without worrying about more formalities. The live band was fantastic were fantastic entertainers for the evening.
Also, be sure to leave a comment at the bottom letting them know what you loved best about their photos. It will make them feel even more special!
