It's hard to describe how much fun we had photographing Pat and Amy's wedding. My wife and I both have known Amy for many years (way back in middle school we all met one another). Since our time in school Amy has gone on to finish her teaching degree, live abroad in Germany and become a fantastic German teacher in her own right in the Lansing, Michigan area. Through the world of Facebook and other digital media, we have kept in touch over the years. Then one day it happened - she met her prince charming! We knew she had been dating a man named Pat, but when she emailed us letting us know she had gotten engaged to Pat at perhaps one of the most romantic spots on the planet, Schloss Neuschwanstein (aka, the castle that Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle is designed after), we couldn't have been happier for her! She asked if we had a date in late September available and since it was a Sunday date, we were so excited to be available to photograph their wedding day.
Pat and Amy planned their wedding day around one location at Wabasis Lake Park just north of Grand Rapids. They planned a "first look" that may be the best of the year as these two were so excited to see one another (see the sequence below)! The outdoor ceremony was picture perfect and it seemed as though they were being married in a tunnel of trees surrounded by their closest family and friends. Following the ceremony we walked around the park for a while before heading back to join all their guests for dinner. Following dinner we snagged Pat and Amy for a few more beautiful images in the park as the sun set.
Also, be sure to leave a comment on which photos are your favorite from their wedding day!
