Over the past year, Rebecca and Katelyn have become great friends. They met just after her engagement and she has walked along side Katelyn as she and Ben set their wedding date, planned all the details and committed to one another as husband and wife. It has been a pleasure to get to know these two wonderful people over the past year. Their story begins way back in junior high and high school. Ben was best friends with Katelyn's older brother. He was at their home quite often and at the end of high school called up Katelyn's brother asking, "Would you be alright if I asked your Katelyn out?" Katelyn's brother responded with, "You're the only guy I would say yes to..." And so began their story over 8 years ago. Both went off to college at Aquinas (look for the Aquinas College photos below), one finished a master's degree at Western and both are now working in the west Michigan area.
Their wedding day began at Holy Redeemer Parish in Jenison where Ben and Katelyn had their first look prior to their ceremony. This helped calm the butterflies and we were able to take quite a few photos prior to the ceremony. Their ceremony was officiated by their childhood priest from the Shelby, Michigan area, which was a wonderful personal touch.
Following the ceremony and formal family photos, it was off in the party bus to Aquinas College for photos and then to Downtown's Blue Bridge. As you can imagine, the Blue Bridge was somewhat busy on a Saturday in June, so we took a slightly different approach to photos on the bridge.
Then the party continued at the Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville, where drinks, dinner and dancing followed. Not only did we setup a photo booth for their reception, we also photographed their wedding party dance, which was an absolute home run!
