Having someone refer couples our way is always a blessing. We first met Sam and Melissa through our great friend Megan who also happened to be a bridesmaid in their wedding. From our first conversation about their winter ceremony at Harvest Bible Chapel to their reception at Porto Bello in Grand Haven, Melissa knew exactly what her wedding day would look like.
Capturing the details of the day was a top priority for us. From hair and makeup at Lyn Phillips to guests having a great time on the dance floor with entertainment from Movin’ Music, the day was filled with special moments that these two will remember forever.
Two wonderful moments happened before the ceremony even began. These two did not want to see each other prior to the ceremony, but they did want to pray together. That meant we brought Sam down near the room where Melissa was getting ready. We then blindfolded him. Next we brought Melissa out (also blindfolded) and watched these two pray together for a few special minutes.
Shortly after these two were done praying, Melissa was able to see her dad for the first time on her wedding day. We emptied the room and made sure these they had a few moments together to take in all their emotions. We love capturing that moment and highly recommend it for every bride getting married.
The ceremony at Harvest Bible Chapel was wonderful. Formal family portraits followed and then it was off to a couple of outdoor locations. The January temperatures were not on our side, so we ended up using the building that Porto Bello is located in for a few portraits of the wedding party along with the bride and groom.
Then it was off to dinner, followed by a full night of dancing before these two called it an evening.
We are so thankful to have been part of Sam and Melissa’s wedding in Grand Haven and if you would like to see the complete gallery, be sure to click on this link to see their custom wedding website!
