Both from families of 4 kids, Andrew and Ailee's wedding day was full of sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and a whole group of people excited about their wedding day! We met these late last year as they were planning their May wedding at Trinity Lutheran Church and the University Club in downtown Grand Rapids. We had a wonderful time talking about their relationship, what they had planned so far for their wedding day and eating ice cream (which happened to be one of Andrew's favorite parts about our meeting).
Well all those plans came together on a Friday in May for these two. These two decided to have a "first look" before the ceremony and it was a joy to photograph. Both said they had butterflies in their stomachs and just seeing the emotions poured out during that first look was something we were blessed to experience through our camera. Their ceremony was held in the beautiful Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids and these two were surrounded by a large group of family and friends.
Following a bubble dismissal, we were off to the Calder Plaza area located directly next to the 5/3 Bank building, where the University Club occupies the top floor. These two were troopers, along with their wedding party, considering the weather wasn't all that warm for early May. However, the party that followed at the University Club was off the hook! Heavy hors d'oeuvres throughout the night and fantastic entertainment provided by local band Brena, the dance floor was packed all night long! If you're looking for a great and entertaining live band, these guys are the best we've seen yet!

PS - The first photo below is a killer clutch that Ailee's mom created out of a older bridal magazine! Such a great idea and well done for her wedding day!
