Dave and Jeanne's wedding was a last minute, Labor Day weekend addition to our calendar. We have known Dave for a number of years and he called us the weekend before his wedding to let us know he was getting married the following Saturday. He was wondering what we would charge to photograph the wedding. I gave him a rough estimate and he said, let me have Jeanne get in touch with you. We then had a conversation with Jeanne about her Pinnacle Room wedding at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. The ceremony and dinner was only around 30 people, close family and friends. The ceremony was officiated by Dave's brother, Len, who then also introduced individuals giving toasts during dinner. Both Dave and Jeanne's sons' toasted their parents, saying kind words about each of them that brought both laughter and tears.
Not only is the Pinnacle Room at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel a beautiful space overlooking all of downtown Grand Rapids and the Grand River, the mood was set by classical guitarist Warren Kramer. He is one of the best classical guitarists we've heard in all the years we have photographed weddings. Following a wonderful family style dinner, dessert and cake cutting, a Dave and Jeanne had their first dance as husband and wife. Following their first dance, Jeanne was able to have a dance with her father as well.
