Their first date was during Artprize 2013 in Grand Rapids. After just a few weeks Nick knew Ashley was the one he was meant to marry. Shortly after they were engaged and we received an email from Ashley. She let us know that her twin sister, Abbey, had met us a few years earlier and recommended us (thanks again Abbey, you rock!). During our meeting together, we learned that Nick was a business owner (he's an optometrist in Allendale, Michigan) and we got right down to business, even asking us to take a few photos of he and Ashley during that first meeting so they could see what it would be like to work with us for their engagement photos and their wedding day.
We were excited about their winter engagement photos in downtown Grand Rapids, but were even more excited for their wedding at Midtown Center in Holland, Michigan. The ceremony and reception were in the same ballroom at the Midtown Center and these two knocked the design and the room usage out of the park. As you will see below the setup was fantastic as the room has wonderful natural light with so many windows and is well laid out for weddings that have both the ceremony and reception at the Midtown Center.
Their ceremony was beautiful and filled with heartfelt vows and anticipation. After a wonderful ceremony the wedding party traveled to Kollen Park on Lake Macatawa for a few photos. Following the time in Kollen Park, the Midtown Center served as a great backdrop for dancing and fun throughout the evening.
