How does a couple who lives in Laramie, Wyoming end up planning an Amway Grand Plaza wedding? Well first you need a girl, originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan to move to Boulder, Colorado and attend the University of Colorado Boulder. Second, you need a native Colorado guy to attend the same school. The two fall in love and eventually relocate to Laramie, Wyoming where the guy will be attending law school and the girl will be working.
Hence how Josh and Megan planned their Amway Grand Plaza wedding.
The day started off in two suites on the Pantlind side of the Amway Grand Plaza where lunch, hair, makeup and relaxation occurred during the morning and early afternoon. Once final preparations were made, Josh and Megan made it clear they had no interest in heading outside into the 90°F+ July heat, so inside we stayed for individual and group portraits.
Regardless of how hot it was outside, the Amway Grand Plaza is an amazing space for photography and we could have spent all day walking around, capturing relaxed portraits and intimate moments of these two. Most of the day's portraits focused on the Pantlind side of the hotel, near the lobby fountain and the wonderful staircases and decor.
The ceremony was held in the Ford Presidential Ballroom, which was setup perfectly for their needs. Their 120 or so guests fit wonderfully in the space surrounded by reflective mirrored walls. Josh and Megan made sure to lay out the room design on a diagonal plane to ensure we could capture the entire space without seeing ourselves in any of the photos (great idea!).
Following a wonderful ceremony we captured family portraits and full wedding party portraits on in the Pantlind lobby as guests anticipated the newlyweds entrance into the Amway's Imperial Ballroom. The meal Amway Catering put together was wonderful and following dinner was even better entertainment put together by Justin from Event Revolution.
