The Busy Summer Season

Summer 2008 has been filled with every kind of photography event. Below you will find weddings, engagement session, senior pictures, family and business. Recently I read a book that asked the question, "Are you a storyteller?" The author goes on to say that it's not your credentials that count, but your ability to "tell a story" about a previous client that had the same NEED as your potential client. That is what this newsletter is for me - a story about what I've recently done that in turn may help you gather ideas for a future project. Enjoy!

Josh and Erin will be married in August 2009, but wanted to have a beach theme for their engagement photos. Erin posted her link on www.theknot.com community boards and over 250 people clicked through to view them! Feel free and do this with your photos as well - post them everywhere!

Chad and Jen were photographed by Associate Photographer Theresa Milanowski. Theresa will be photographing their wedding in October. They met at kung fu class (how cute is that!), so Theresa decided to catch them in the act!

Addison @ 3 Months - What more can I say!

The Sejat Family was referred to me by a friend in Grand Rapids. I photographed their oldest son Jake's senior pictures the same day. The images were made in their own backyard!

I met Nick Aikens mom because I am photographing their oldest daughter Jenny's wedding in 2009. So naturally they asked about senior pictures and I was happy to photograph this great golfer!

This is Jake Sejat @ his home in Grand Rapids

Cory and Sandi were married in the Leelenau Peninsula in July by Associate Photographer Theresa Milanowski. It looks like Michigan is a great place for a "destination wedding".

Brad and Mindy are friends from my political days in Lansing. I think this image is one of my favorites of all time! They were amazing to work with!

Jonathan and Rachel somehow ended up calling me after not "connecting" with anyone in Grand Rapids for their photography needs. They called a lot of places, but somehow God ended up sending them my way and it was a great day!

Jarrod and Tracy were at a wedding in 2007 that I photographed so we had a blast re-connecting for their wedding day!

Peter Secchia was the subject of a MiBiz cover story. This was my favorite image from the day and one that is "totally Peter".

Eric and Kesha were married on August 1 and I spent just a few hours with them. Just a few days after their wedding, they packed up and moved out to San Fran, CA!

The Calati Family was referred through a business contact in Grand Rapids. We ventured out to Townsend Park and their kids were just stunning! Not a bad looking family, eh!

Worlds Largest Wedding Cake

I heard about this on the radio, but didn't believe it! Can you imagine a cake this big!

"Today, at the New England Bridal Showcase, Mohegan Sun unveiled what it hopes will be the world's largest wedding cake. Measuring 17-feet tall and weighing 15,032 pounds, the seven-tiered cake is almost three-times the weight of the current record in the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's largest wedding cake.
