Behind the Scenes at Runway For Charity | Grand Rapids Fashion Photography

The Runway for Charity event brought together hundreds of volunteers from several different organizations from around West Michigan. On the day of the runway show, Design 1 Salon was one of the big players, along with Jerrad Matthew, who was in charge of coordinating the runway show for AK Rikk's and the Matthew Agency. Behind the scenes, Design 1 Salon had over half a dozen hair stylists on site for the 30 models in the show. Each was scheduled for hair and makeup throughout the day. Though the show began officially at 9pm, some models began their hair around 1pm.

Makeup for the evening was done by Aura Skincare & Cosmetics and the team they brought together was outstanding as well. From airbrushing to final touch ups just before portraits were taken, the team at Aura knocked this year's theme of "Vintage Glam and Goth" out of the park.

Shortly before guests arrived for the evening, Jarred Matthew walked the models through the show, which was more of a fashion display than a runway show this year. The event was broken into three distinct rooms and platforms for models to showcase their attire from AK Rikk's, along with their overall look. Despite the rain, guests were able to enjoy the show regardless of which room they found themselves in throughout the evening.
