100 Years and Still Going Strong...

On February 29th Tiberius Images was able to celebrate a remarkable date with a local Grand Rapids company. Flexco Grand Rapids, formerly known as Clipper Belt Lacer Company, celebrated its 100th Anniversary in Grand Rapids. The event included local dignitaries including Congressman Vern Ehlers, Mayor George Heartwell, State Representative Robert Dean and City Commissioner Rosalyn Bliss. The event during the day focused around the growth of manufacturing in Michigan. Flexco Grand Rapids has been in the manufacturing business for over 100 years now and there is no sign of them slowing down anytime soon. If 100 years wasn't a big enough sign of the companies growth, they also added a 60,000 square foot addition to their already existing 40,000 square feet of production space. In the evening employees and their friends and family members were able to enjoy an evening of celebration as the company officially celebrated it's 100th Anniversary with the people that make the largest impact on their business - their employees! Enjoy the photos.

This little lady just captured my attention and was so happy to take part in the evening's face painting activities!

Dogsledding in the UP

A group of family members were fortunate enough to travel to Munising, MI in January to go Dogsledding! Our guides was Bob Johnson of Triple Creek Kennels in Munising. Bob is a native of Grand Rapids, but since his retirement almost 25 years ago has been dogsledding in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We were their guests for two days and woke up to a beautiful morning of -7 degrees! It was a cold day with heat waves reaching almost 2 degrees above. If you are looking for a great couple day excursion into Michigan's great outdoors, you can't go wrong with a dogsledding trip in Michigan's upper peninsula!

The "Three P" Approach

Over the past few months, I've been trying to figure out how I can put together a "guide" for couples looking for photography on their wedding day. I've been doing a ton of reading and have been able to put together a systematic way of looking at photography. Here is what I've come up with:

Portfolio
You MUST love a photographers portfolio if you they are going to photograph the most important day of your life. In 2007, Tiberius Images photographed 28 weddings - that's more than one every other weekend! Some of our best work can be seen by visiting the following links:

Personality
You must LIKE the photographer you hire. They must make you comfortable and keep your wedding day on track. To help with the wedding day, I would encourage you to visit my "Plan Your Wedding in 30 Minutes!" webpage at www.tiberiusimages.com/plan-your-wedding-in-30-minutes/. Here you will see the detail and effort I place upon each wedding I photograph.

Price
The last aspect of your photography search should focus around PRICE. Once you've decided you like a photographer's portfolio and who he/she is, then you can begin discussing price. If you simply begin by asking "What do you charge for a wedding?", it's like asking the mechanic "How much is it going to cost to fix my car?". The mechanic, every time, will say "I have to figure out what's wrong with it first...". In the same way, the best way for us to properly quote a wedding is to have you visit www.tiberiusimages.com/plan-your-wedding-in-30-minutes/ and fill us in on the details of your day. In general, wedding packages around $1495. Obviously the larger the package the more options you have, but with all the packages you receive our services for the entire day, a digital proof book with all the edited photos from your wedding day and personal website where you and your friends can view your wedding photos over and over.

Know anyone getting married in the next few months? Send them my way and tell them to visit Grand Rapids photographer Tiberius Images' website.
